Cotton, Cotton Club: A student restaurant serving home-style meals near Fabriikki. Open on Saturdays too!

Domus Bothnica, Domppa: The Student Union Building at the University of Vaasa.

Edustajisto, Edari: The 30-member Representative Council is the highest decision-making body of the Student Union of the University of Vaasa. Its members, known as representatives, are elected every two years. The Representative Council is responsible for major strategic decisions, including approving the membership fee and the annual action plan.
Ekonomi: Once you graduate with a Master’s degree in Business and Economics, you are entitled to use the title Economist (Ekonomi).
Excu, excursio: In Warrantti, an excursion is a study trip focused on business, culture, or professional networking. Warrantti organizes several excursions each year, with a couple of international trips and the rest taking place in Finland.

Fontana: The place to be in Vaasa’s nightlife – Warrantti’s partner restaurant. You’ll get to know it already during the Freshers’ Weeks.

Giga ry: The student association for Technical Communication students at the University of Vaasa.

Haalarit: The traditional student overalls worn at student events. Members of all student associations at the University of Vaasa wear bright red overalls. You can recognize Warrantti’s overalls by the large Warrantti logo on the back.
Hallinnoijat ry, Hallarit: The student association for Administrative Sciences students at the University of Vaasa.
Hallinnon opiskelijaedustaja, HallOpEd: A student representative who serves on the university’s administrative bodies, ensuring that students’ voices are heard in university decision-making. Student representatives are also part of Warrantti’s Educational Affairs Committee, where they act as an important link between the university administration and students.
Hanken: A Swedish-language school of economics with campuses in Helsinki and Vaasa. SSHV is the student association for Hanken students in Vaasa.
Harkkasitsit: The first academic table party for freshers, held in the autumn. These sitsit introduce new students to the traditions and etiquette of academic table parties in a fun and welcoming way.
HOPS: Personal Study Plan (PSP) – your individual plan outlining the courses and studies you intend to complete during your degree.
Hovioikeuden ranta, Hoviska: A park where Warrantti organizes events and where students from across the university gather to celebrate the final shared moments of the spring semester.
Humanisti: A student in the Faculty of Philosophy.
Hämeenkadun Appro: Finland’s largest student event, held in Tampere. Every year, Warrantti sends several busloads of business students to take part in the festivities.

Justus ry: The student association for the Vaasa Unit of the Faculty of Law at the University of Helsinki.
Jaosto: A team that works under the supervision of Warrantti’s board members, assisting them with tasks such as organizing parties and excursions, building corporate partnerships, and producing the student magazine.

Kastajaiset: An autumn event where new students are officially initiated as members of the Student Union of the University of Vaasa.
Kampusporvarit: The oldest political group in the Representative Council of the Student Union of the University of Vaasa (VYY). The group works in cooperation with Vaasan Kampusporvarit ry.
Koulutuspoliittinen vastaava, Kopo: A member of Warrantti’s Board responsible for representing students’ interests within the faculty and the university administration.
Kylteri: A business student.
Kylteriäiset: Warrantti’s unforgettable first checkpoint event of the autumn for freshers. The event also attracts older students to campus to watch the festivities. Kylteriäiset is followed by the official afterparty at Fontana.
Kylteriyhdyshenkilö, Kylli: The local representative of the Finnish Business School Graduates at our university, who can help with all matters related to the association. Currently, the Kylli is Rasmus Hakala.
Kylteripäivät, KYPÄ: An annual event organized by Suomen Ekonomit, featuring a daytime programme of professional and networking activities followed by evening festivities. It’s a unique opportunity to meet business students from universities across Finland.

Levón: The university’s largest lecture hall, located immediately to the left after entering through the main entrance.
Liikunta- ja kulttuurijaosto: Warrantti’s committee responsible for organizing sports, fitness, and cultural events. LiiKku also organizes an international excursion every spring.

Mathilda: A student restaurant located in Tervahovi.

Markkinointijaosto:The division responsible for Warrantti’s social media channels. Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, among others, are managed by the Marketing division.
Mediajaosto: the division responsible for Wykyzine and W-Podi.

NESU: Nordiska Ekonomie Studerandes Union (NESU), the joint organization for Nordic business students. In Vaasa, NESU operates under Warrantti as an independent organization with its own board. NESU is mainly responsible for organizing Warrantti’s sitsit.

Oliver’s Inn, Ollis: A bar located along Kauppapuistikko, best known as a popular spot among Swedish-speaking Finns. Ollis tisdag is an experience worth having at least once during your studies, the atmosphere is amazing!
Olympia: VOAS student housing complex in Vöyrinkaupunki, located close to the city centre.

Palosaari: The district where the campus is located. Approximately 1.5 km from the city centre.
Palosaaren silta: The windiest stretch between the city centre and Palosaari. When winter arrives, you’ll understand why the bridge is known as the “Siberia Simulator.”
Peppi:The university’s information system, where students register for semesters, courses, and exams. Grades from completed courses are also recorded in Peppi.
Poikkarit: Vaasa’s interdisciplinary overall parties, bringing together students from all higher education institutions in Vaasa.
Projektijaosto: Warrantti’s division responsible for organizing events such as parties and pre-evening gatherings.
Pääainekerho: A club that maintains the career orientation and sense of community among students studying the same major. The club is led by student representatives of the respective unit.

Ramppi: The Vaasa Student Theatre.
Rapu: A Warrantti fresher.

Sillis: A traditional shared herring breakfast held at a secret location after certain events, such as annual balls.
Sitsit: An academic singing, drinking, and dining celebration. A crayfish party without the crayfish.
Suomen Ekonomit: The organization that represents the interests of business students and economists in working life, society, and education. By joining Warrantti, you automatically become a member of Suomen Ekonomit. The organization also offers valuable member benefits.

Talousjaosto: A division that supports the Treasurer and assists with tasks such as the association’s ongoing bookkeeping and product management.
Technobothnia: A shared engineering laboratory for the University of Vaasa and the universities of applied sciences, located on campus.
Tenttiarkisto: An archive found on Warrantti’s website that provides insight into exam content.
Tervahovi: The university’s main building.
Teekkari: An engineering student. Upon graduation, they receive a Master of Science in Technology degree.
Tritonia: The joint academic library of Vaasa’s higher education institutions, located next to the main entrance.
Tutti ry: The student association for engineering students at the University of Vaasa. Its members include both engineering students and business students.
Tutor: A second-year or older student whose role is to help freshers get started with student life.
Tørst: A cozy basement pub located downstairs from Fontana and Fondis. A great place to hang out, sing karaoke, and play board games with friends!

Ulkkari: A business student from another city, whom you might encounter at events such as sitsit, Wykypäivät, or annual balls. You can also become an exchange visitor yourself and experience, for example, the excitement of sitsit outside Vaasa!

Vaasan Kampusporvarit ry, VaKaPo: The ideological local association of Vaasa’s Coalition Party Students, affiliated with the National Union of University Students in Finland. It has been active on campus since 1968.
VOAS: The Vaasa Student Housing Foundation. Provides affordable and well-maintained housing for students in Vaasa.
Vuosijuhlat, vujut: Warrantti’s birthday celebration, considered the most prestigious and formal of Warrantti’s events.
Vujustaff: A team mainly consisting of first-year students that helps organize Warrantti’s annual ball and Willis. Applications to join the annual ball committee open at the beginning of September.
VYY: The Student Union of the University of Vaasa.

Wallitus: Warrantti’s Board, which consists of the Chairperson and 11 other members.
Warrantti: The student association for business students at the University of Vaasa.
Warranttilaiset: A politically independent Representative Council group whose goal is to bring the perspective of business students to the highest decision-making body of the Student Union of the University of Vaasa, the Representative Council. Currently, Warranttilaiset is the largest group in the Representative Council.
W-huone: Warrantti members’ own hangout spot and Warrantti’s office at the university. All Warrantti members are welcome to visit the W-room to enjoy free coffee!
W-Podi:Warrantti’s own podcast, featuring interesting episodes especially for Warrantti members. Available on Spotify.
Wykypäivä: A national student event organized by Warrantti, where business students from across Finland gather near Vaasa’s Tropiclandia to complete a checkpoint route that ends with an unforgettable pool party in the spa area. In the evening, the celebrations continue at Fontana with the official afterparty.
Wykyzine, Wykkäri: Warrantti’s own student association magazine, published five times a year.

YksOpEd: The student representative of a unit. An important figure in student advocacy, acting as a link between the unit and students. The role of unit representatives is to communicate students’ ideas and feedback to the unit and information from the unit back to students. Unit representatives are part of the Educational Affairs Committee, which operates under the supervision of the Educational Policy Officer, and they also lead the major-specific student club for their field of study.
Yrityssuhdejaosto: Warrantti’s division responsible for developing and maintaining the organization’s corporate partnerships.
YHTS: The Finnish Student Health Service (FSHS), the healthcare provider for university and higher education students.

Åbo Akademi: A Swedish-language university with campuses in Turku and Vaasa.
